United Nurses Cleared of Election Misconduct Allegations

Frivolous Objections by Prime Healthcare Services Overruled San Dimas, CA –The United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals (UNAC/UHCP) was cleared of any misconduct during an organizing campaign preceding the Registered Nurses vote to unionize and affiliate with UNAC/UHCP in April 2010. Chino Valley Medical Center filed twenty-nine objections with the National Labor Relations Board, alleging Union election misconduct. Last week an Administrative Law Judge overruled all of the Hospital’s objections, clearing the way for the Union to be certified as the nurses’ representative.

United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals (UNAC/UHCP) members and staff participated in the AFSCME California State Convention in Sacramento on March 14 and 15. Members from all eight AFSCME California affiliates came together to vote on the political endorsements for public office. United Nurses contribute to Haiti relief efforts with donation and medical volunteers

Since 2000, UNAC/UHCP has donated $10,000 to charitable organizations selected by one of their union affiliates on a rotating basis. Originally, the contribution was given in conjunction with Nurses Week held in May. However, in light of the magnitude of devastation in Haiti and urgent need, UNAC/UHCP decided to increase the contribution and give it now rather than this spring.
