SPNN was officially recognized by the National Labor Relations Board in 1996 when more than 2/3 of Sharp Registered Nurses voted to unionize. SPNN affiliated with UNAC/UHCP, NUHHCE, AFSCME and the AFL-CIO. These alliances greatly enhance SPNN’s ability to promote quality patient care, protect nursing practice and improve working conditions.
