The California State Senate’s Health Committee stood with dialysis caregivers by their decisive vote in favor of the Dialysis Patient Safety Act (SB 349), which would set safe caregiver-to-patient ratios in chronic dialysis clinics statewide, mandate safer transition times between patients for infection control, and require annual inspections of the facilities.

On October 7, Garden Grove Registered Nurses Association (GGRNA) members voted on the tentative agreement for a new three year contract. The ballots have been counted and the agreement received an overwhelming YES vote! The vote successfully locked in across the board wage increases, protection of health care premiums, holiday pay and other improvements.
LRNA members voted overwhelmingly to ratify a new three year contract on August 1.
There was an incredible outpouring of service to the community by UNAC/UHCP members during Nurses Week this year—gifts of our labor and professionalism for those in need. In addition, several groups honored UNAC/UHCP for our contributions to health care and service to the community.

At the tenth and final scheduled session on March 24, we reached agreement on a new three year contract.
A team led by the PRNA o fficers has secured a new agreement after meeting with management for the past few months in a collaborative process to address the alarming RN turnover rates at Parkview.
