St. Francis: Prime Has Withdrawn Bid to Buy Hospital Chain

Prime Healthcare has withdrawn its bid to purchase St. Francis and the Daughters of Charity Health System. This is following the Attorney General’s approval of a sale to Prime under strict conditions – conditions that Prime was unwilling to meet.

Dozens of UNAC/UHCP health care professionals participated in a hearing by the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health, or Cal/OSHA, on February 5 regarding draft regulations to protect health care workers.

CA Attorney General Holds Hearing on St. Francis Sale

On January 5, nurses from St. Francis Medical Center joined community members at a public hearing held by California Attorney General Kamala Harris regarding the sale of our hospital. St. Francis nurses, including the bargaining team from our recent contract negotiations, attended a pre-hearing rally and testified at the hearing in opposition to the sale of St. Francis Medical Center to Prime Healthcare Services.
