Nurses screened hundreds of patients, and optometrists gazed into more than 200 eyeballs at this year’s African American Men’s Health and Empowerment Summit. Though the program is known as the Black Barbershop Outreach Program, this year’s event was held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, a sign of its continued growth and success.

United Nurses Provide Medical Services for HIV/AIDS Children’s Camp Program in Big Bear

Each year the Camp Laurel Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization, provides a summer and winter camp to children living with or affected by HIV/AIDS in Bear Valley. Based in Pasadena, the organization is always looking for medical volunteers to meet the medical care needs of the campers. This year, UNAC/UHCP reached out to its members in order to find some much needed volunteers for this year’s summer camp program.
