Sharp HealthCare’s registered nurses intend to strike beginning the Monday after Thanksgiving, November 28. The strike comes in response to Sharp’s repeated violations of federal labor law and refusal to address patient care problems caused by an escalating crisis in nurse turnover.

UNAC/UHCP celebrated 30 new scholarship recipients in early October at the UNAC/UHCP scholarship banquet held during the 2016 UNAC/UHCP convention. Local recipients were celebrated for their academic and professional accomplishments.
We Did It! Garden Grove Contract Ratified

On October 7, Garden Grove Registered Nurses Association (GGRNA) members voted on the tentative agreement for a new three year contract. The ballots have been counted and the agreement received an overwhelming YES vote! The vote successfully locked in across the board wage increases, protection of health care premiums, holiday pay and other improvements.

After dozens of Garden Grove RNs attended this year’s contract negotiations to let management know we would not back down, on Wednesday, September 28 we concluded a strong tentative agreement.

With more than forty nurses attending, management made their wage proposal on Thursday, September 8. They also targeted senior nurses in another proposal, but we protected a number of our benefits.
