We Will Strike November 28-30
November 2016
Today we submitted a 10-day strike notice to management for a ULP strike to begin at 0700 (7:00 am) on November 28, 2016. The strike will last for 3 days.
A strike is always a last resort. But we must do whatever it takes to stop Sharp’s repeated violations of federal labor law and refusal to address patient care problems caused by an escalating crisis in nurse turnover.
Sharp is bleeding nurses—they’re on track to lose over 700 this year, but Sharp refuses to address the problem. Instead, Sharp illegally declared impasse and unilaterally implemented its final proposal, which was an unfair labor practice as we were still bargaining. And Sharp has committed other unfair labor practices against nurses, among them, unlawful surveillance, threats, and interrogation.
Earlier this month, Sharp RNs overwhelmingly voted to reject management's so-called "last, best and final offer" and authorize an unfair labor practices (ULP) strike.
