What’s At Stake

February 2018

Dear UNAC/UHCP Members,

We know the value and strength of collective bargaining power. This year is a significant bargaining year for our union and we must do whatever it takes to ensure we have a strong collective voice to advocate for our patients and our profession.

In the last three months, RNs at Bear Valley, St. Francis and Beverly Hospital have won new contracts to further advance their work as frontline nurses, improve wages and working conditions and secure their future for the next few years. In 2016, SPNN RNs working at Sharp Healthcare in San Diego collectively decided that being a strong union wasn’t an option, it was a necessity. And they won.

What’s at stake?

Later this month the U.S. Supreme Court will hear a case that would destroy our collective bargaining power. Millions of public servants and their families are threatened, if we don’t stand together now.

What do we need to do now?

1) We need you to be active in your union. This is the most important time to informed and involved.

2) Join thousands of union members on Saturday, February 24, 2018 in San Diego. We need to send a clear message to the Supreme Court and our elected officials. We stand together as working people to secure our future.
