UNAC/UHCP Mourns the Loss of Delima MacDonald
March 2015
The UNAC/UHCP family has lost a piece of our heart with the passing of much loved former UNAC/UHCP Treasurer Delima MacDonald.
Delima was not just the longest serving treasurer our union has known, she was for all who knew her a force of life. Famous for her quick wit and keen sense of adventure, when Delima first started working at UNAC/UHCP, she not only kept nursing full time, but also continued motorcycle racing.
Through the years, Delima’s wisdom on how to run union and affiliate budgets became so valued by UNAC/UHCP members that several lived their financial lives governed by the principle “What Would Delima Do?” Stickers commemorating the motto were worn by participants at the 2011 AAOC for affiliate officers.
Words aren’t enough to convey how much Delima will be missed. She will live on in our hearts forever.
