UNAC/UHCP Joins the Team for a World Record Food Drive!
May 2016
Kaiser South Bay and Ontario-Vineyard UNAC/UHCP members were proud to participate in the 24th annual Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.
The volunteer effort was organized by the LA County Federation of Labor and is seeking to set a Guinness World Record for “The Largest Food Drive within 24 Hours at a Single Location.” (It may take a few weeks before we get the official word from Guinness—we’ll keep you posted!)
Members from Kaiser Ontario Vineyard Health Care Professionals Association (KOVCHPA) are shown above presenting canned food items to Gregory LaMotte and Calvin Brookins from the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) on Tuesday, May 10.
On Saturday, May 14 members from Kaiser South Bay Health Care Professionals Association (KSBHPA) worked with union sisters and brothers from a wide variety of industries to sort and weigh thousands of pounds of food donations. You can see them in their relay line in the photos above and below.
