UNAC/UHCP Invades Our Nation’s Capital to Attend UNA Conference

May 2011

Nearly 50 UNAC/UHCP RNs met in Washington DC last week along with RNs and other nurses from AFSCME represented locals all over the country to share our knowledge and skills both as union leaders and as Registered Nurses for the 13th UNA National Nurses Congress.

“As front line staff, the RNs provided stories of patients who must choose between food or medication, and patients who delay treatments due to finances and end up with complications which are more expensive and impact their quality of life. Our members of Congress must hear these stories to make the right decisions on budgets, Social Security, and health care reform,” said Barbara Blake, UNAC/UHCP’s State Secretary.
