The Employee Free Choice Act would create a fairer process for union organizing by:

• establishing stronger penalties for violation of employee rights when workers seek to form a
  union and during first-contract negotiations;
• providing mediation and arbitration for first-contract disputes; and
• allowing employees to form unions by signing cards authorizing union representation.

The Employee Free Choice Act would restore fairness to the union organizing process so employees don’t have to put their jobs and livelihoods on the line just to have a voice in the workplace.
