Stand With Texas

August 2017

This Labor Day weekend, stand in solidarity with our sisters and brothers here in Southern California and in Texas.

Members of HOPE (Houston Organization of Public Employees, AFSCME Local 123) are doing heroic work with their fire and police colleagues, rescuing flooded families and delivering clean water. Many of the hospital workers of Harris County Local 1550 have been unable to leave work to check on their own homes. One AFSCME member even rescued two women in labor and helped ensure healthy delivery of their babies.

Our AFSCME sisters and brothers are also among those victimized and displaced by this storm. The coming weeks and months will be difficult ones as they try to put their lives back together. We’re asking you to be a part of this relief and recovery effort by making a donation to AFSCME’s Fallen Heroes Fund.
