St. Francis Nurses Support Lynwood Elementary Schools

Students at Lynwood elementary schools Mark Twain and Washington can count on two things with the arrival of fall every year—the beginning of a new school year and the support of St. Francis nurses.

This year, we gathered monetary donations from SFMC physicians, RNs, SEIU members, and the hospital itself. Then SFRNA matched the total of all other contributions.

SFRNA VP Edwin Guardado, RN, and Staff Rep and past President Sandi Marques, RN, both attended Washington Elementary.

State Senator Ricardo Lara Honors St. Francis RN

Ana Bergeron, RN, Treasurer of SFRNA, was recognized on September 20 by State Senator Ricardo Lara for her hard work as a union nurse. This recognition reflects on all St. Francis nurses and our devotion to giving our patients the best possible care.

Helping Victims of Human Trafficking

Ever since Rosa Carcamo, RN, saved a young human trafficking victim in the SFMC ER, she has volunteered with Forgotten Children, Inc. Forgotten Children fights human trafficking and helps victims transition back into society. Rosa is also SFRNA Secretary, and a member of our negotiating team.
