SFRNA Bargaining Update: June 24, 2011

June 2011

We Will NOT Agree to Takeaways

Over 200 RNs attended the last two days of bargaining as the RN bargaining team presented its Economic and Job Security Proposal to management. See our proposals here.

In presenting our proposal, the RN Bargaining Team stated, "We fully support the mission and vision of both SFMC and the system, but we cannot support a proposal that unfairly places the burden for the cost of that vision on St Francis RNs. We will NOT agree to takeaways."

St. Francis has proposed elimination of overtime pay after 8 hours, effectively cutting our wages by 17%. In addition, management is proposing that we pay up to 20% for insurance premiums for those nurses who have the Free HMO plan. Check out their proposals here.

Prior to providing management with our proposal the RN bargaining team told them, "We are submitting a proposal that we believe is a fair economic proposal. You can afford this proposal." Click here for a summary of our proposal.

On July 12th management will present their response. Be there at 10am:

Long Beach Marriott
4700 Airport Plaza Dr.
Long Beach, CA 90815
