SFRNA Bargaining Update

November 2014

THE UNION DID NOT SUBMIT A STRIKE NOTICE

BARGAINING SET FOR THURSDAY AT THE CERRITOS SHERATON

In preparation for bargaining yesterday, the Union prepared a 10-day notice, for a one day strike to occur on Friday, November 28. We prepared the notice in advance in case we didn't make sufficient progress in bargaining, and needed to submit it to management. THE UNION DID NOT SUBMIT A TEN-DAY OF INTENT TO STRIKE. Unfortunately, a picture of the 10-day notice has been texted around the hospital, and management received a copy of the picture this morning. The Union has clearly communicated with management that there is no 10-day notice, and no intent on the part of the Union to strike on Friday, November 28.

We made substantial progress toward completing a new five year contract yesterday. After hours of talks, nearly all open issues were resolved and tentatively agreed to. However, circumstances out of the control of the Union and of St. Francis management occurred, which forced us to discontinue the session yesterday.

We have set Thursday, November 20 as our next bargaining date. We will meet on Thursday a the Cerritos Sheraton beginning at 10 a.m. We need everyone to continue to attend and show your support.
