SFRNA Bargaining Update
November 2014
Yesterday, your bargaining team met again for negotiations. Significant progress was made on outstanding Unfair Labor Practices (ULPs) and grievances. Due to privacy issues with individual grievances, a subcommittee was selected to represent SFRNA in a meeting with management. The result was a very productive discussion of outstanding grievances, with the majority resolved. Management committed to responding to the remaining items by the next bargaining session.
UNAC/UHCP chief negotiator Bill Rouse, along with SEIU, had an offsite meeting with Prime Healthcare. Prime and UNAC/UHCP have historically had a contentious relationship at the other two UNAC/UHCP-represented Prime hospitals in Southern California. The meeting was a chance to change the dynamics of the relationship and find a path to move forward in a more productive manner. Unfortunately, the meeting ended without any agreements.
The bargaining team has asked for additional bargaining dates for the week of December 1. As soon as the date and location are confirmed, we'll let everyone know.
