PMRNA CONTRACT RATIFICATION AND UNION DUES
Tentative Agreement
On Thursday, March 1, a Tentative Agreement was reached for a new contract. The agreement is the culmination of 2 years and 11 months of negotiations, approximately 70 bargaining meetings of face-to-face negotiations with representatives of management, and countless hours of work.
The agreement requires union members’ stamp of approval for the contract to take effect.
The details and specifics of this agreement will be provided at the vote meetings. These meetings give all members of the Union the opportunity to review the agreement, evaluate the proposed contract, and vote to accept or reject it. Your bargaining team recommends that members vote yes to ratify the agreement.
Union Dues: Proposed Increase
Current dues are $14.58 per pay period and have been at the same rate for many years. Although our costs have increased over the years, our Affiliate (PMRNA) has not passed on these increased costs to our members. For Union-related work not compensated by official time and/or performed on days off to service our members, the PMRNA Officers are compensated at one-half of their hourly rate. Additionally, the last and only time we negotiated our contract was in 1981, 37 years ago, until we started bargaining for this new agreement almost 3 years ago in May 2015. This bargaining has exhausted much of the already limited resources we had accumulated. Additional money is needed to continue to effectively run our Affiliate.
Your PMRNA Officers unanimously approved bringing a dues increase from $14.58 per pay period to $20.00 per pay period, starting with pay period 13 of 2018; and to $25.00 per pay period, starting with pay period 1 of 2019 to a vote of the membership.
Voting for a dues increase will help in operating our Affiliate more effectively and will keep our Union strong.

Note: Only members of PMRNA can cast a ballot in the dues increase and the contract
ratification vote. If you are not currently a member and would like to vote, you will be
able to fill out a membership form at the meetings and submit it with your ballot.
