Pharmacists Negotiations Update: May 4, 2015

May 2015

We're off to a good start! On our first day of bargaining, we spent the morning reviewing interest based negotiation fundamentals, settling on a set of ground rules and an outline of contract topics to be covered. After lunch, we worked and reached consensus agreement with management on five broad topics, including the Preamble, Courtesy, Strikes and Lockouts, Membership, and Savings Clause language.

At our next session on Wednesday, May 6, we plan on tackling Non-Discrimination, Harassment, Corrective Action and Discipline, and Management Rights language. All pharmacists are encouraged to attend negotiations. The next sessions are:

Wednesday, May 6 and Friday, May 8
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
UNAC/UHCP Office
955 Overland Court, San Dimas 91773

"Our negotiations started today on a positive note. We had a productive day in reaching agreements on several issues."
--Houry Abajian, Woodland Hills negotiations team member

"We are glad we came to observe the first official negotiating day with UNAC/UHCP and Kaiser. It was a good experience watching the interactions between Kaiser management and our hard working negotiating team. We encourage you to come and observe, and be a part of future negotiations."
--Arvee Espidol, Ontario and Stacy Itow, South Bay
