After a health care reform bill passed in the United States House of Representatives earlier this year, the U.S. Senate has taken up the health care reform debate. UNAC/UHCP members, as advocates for our patients, have joined the chorus of health care groups opposing changes to the health care system that would cause millions of Americans to lose care.
UNAC/UHCP President Denise Duncan, RN, issued the following statement on the most recent version of the Senate health care reform bill:
“If Senate Republicans really wanted to ‘fix’ health care, they would focus on how to improve health outcomes for our country. The latest Senate health care bill simply removes coverage rather than addressing the underlying problems, such as access and affordability.”
