KWRNA Run-Off Election Ballots Have Been Mailed

December 2013

Recently, our affiliate voted to elect several officers to represent the members at our affiliate. The ballots have been counted, and there are two positions where a majority was not obtained by a candidate for that office.
Based on the rules enumerated in the AFSCME International Constitution, a run-off election will take place for both the Secretary and Representation Coordinator offices.
Ballots have been mailed out for the KWRNA affiliate officer election. Please watch your mailbox. The run-off election ballots are due back by Friday, January 10, 2014.
The AFSCME International Constitution, Appendix D, Section 2, sub-section J, provides that:
“Upon completion of the voting, the ballots shall be tabulated and the candidate for each office receiving a majority of the votes cast for that office shall be declared elected. Any remaining unfilled offices shall be filled through a run-off election in which there shall be a ballot bearing two names for each office to be filled, such names being those nominees who received the greatest number of votes in the first balloting and the candidates receiving the highest number of votes shall be declared elected.”
If you have any questions, or do not receive your ballot by December 31, please contact Charmaine Morales, RN, UNAC/UHCP Secretary at charmaine.morales@unacuhcp.org or (909) 599-8622.
