KSDHCPA Delivers for Monarch School

On Wednesday, August 9, our KSDHCPA members delivered over 25 boxes of donated school supplies, clothing, and toiletries to The Monarch School, a public K – 12 school that exclusively serves students who are homeless in San Diego County.

In a fantastic demonstration of teamwork amongst the affiliate officers and stewards, donations were provided and collected by the membership in more than 20 units at both San Diego hospital facilities! These items will benefit 300 students and their families as they prepare to begin their new school year next week.

After delivering the donation boxes, our KSDHCPA members received a tour of the facility from the organization’s CEO, Erin Spiewak, and learned more about how our union could collectively continue to support their mission to address the issue of homelessness in the future.
