Know Someone Who Needs the BRN Diversion Program?
March 2015
If you or someone you know is impacted by substance abuse or mental illness, the Diversion Program offered by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) may be of interest to you. The Diversion Program’s goal is to protect the public by promoting early identification of substance use disorders and by providing intervention and treatment to registered nurses.
It is imperative to take action to protect the lives of those afflicted by substance abuse or mental illness and also to protect patient health and safety. Health care professionals may be more susceptible to substance abuse due to job stresses and access to controlled substances. With this program, registered nurses can change their lifestyles. The BRN’s Diversion Program has successfully helped more than 1,700 nurses rehabilitate.
For more information on this confidential, voluntary rehabilitation program, please see the attached BRN's Diversion Program brochure.
