Rep Coordinator Candidate Biographies

Jacqueline Asfall, RN

History

JackieAsfallComing to Kaiser Baldwin Park in 1994, after being employed at a non-union hospital for 14 years and learned early in my Kaiser career that belonging to a union was the only way the working nurse would truly advance. Active with UNAC/UHCP since 1995, I have served as KBPRNA secretary, Vice President and then became the 1st Hospital President in 1998. when the hospital opened. I remained in that position until becoming a LMP Labor Liaison in 2001. My tenure with UNAC/UHCP also included serving as board of directors for 8 years. In 2006 when UNAC/UHCP re-organized the Baldwin Park structure I decided to take off some much needed time to spend with my family and become a mom. Even after taking time off from being an officer I remained an active steward representing, RN and RNP’s and on committee’s such as UBT.

Representation

I have represented Health Care Professionals for over 13 years in my role at UNAC/UHCP. Participated in collective bargaining, organizing, grievance handling and Issue Resolution’s. One of my biggest achievements came early in my union involvement when I fought and won 3 years of back pay for a co-worker.

Commitment

I consider myself an organizer and team builder and have used my skills in the past to motivate Health Care Professionals to be active and participate within their Union. I have helped organize for those without a contract and internally.  I am prepared and committed to represent all Health Care Professionals at all levels and to show the value of having the voice of UNAC/UHCP for working men and women in Healthcare.

As a Rep coordinator I am committed to building union capacity through recruitment, education and training. To better serve members in the day, evening, night and weekend shifts including our outlining clinics.
