July 16 Rally for Stronger Standards against Workplace Violence
July 2015
JOIN US ON THURSDAY, JULY 16 AT PASADENA CITY HALL
9AM RALLY START
10AM CAL/OSHA STANDARDS BOARD MTG. START
The Cal/OSHA Standards Board is holding its July meeting in Southern California and UNAC/UHCP will be there to protest the recently revised and significantly weakened workplace violence prevention regulations now under consideration for approval by the Board.
Powerful anti-bullying language previously included in the draft regulations was recently removed by the Board’s leadership, thus eliminating a hard won standard fought for by UNAC/UHCP and others during a series of five robust public advisory meetings.
The weakened draft regulations will be reviewed by the Standards Board on July 16 at the Pasadena City Hall. Their recommendation for or against approving the regulations will be made to Cal/OSHA following the meeting.
We must unite now to send a strong message to the Board that we won’t accept the watered down regulatory standards currently under consideration. Giving workplace bullying a pass is not acceptable.
Please come to this important meeting. You can drive yourself or catch the bus at LAMC, departing at 7:45am for a roundtrip ride to rally and protest.
