Election Update

September 2013

Remember that Tuesday, November 5, 2013 is Election Day. Many of us will have local, municipal or school district elections. Make sure to vote. We must put good and honorable citizens into elected office. It’s also critical for us as union members to vote for candidates who will safeguard our collective bargaining rights.

We will be able to vote by absentee ballot as early as the first week of October. To learn more about the upcoming elections contact the California Secretary of State’s office (sos.ca.gov) or your local County Registrar-Recorder’s office (each county will have its own website).

There are also two important upcoming special elections. UNAC/UHCP has endorsed Holly Mitchell for California Senate District 26, covering West LA, South LA and Culver City, on September 17. We have endorsed Freddy Rodriguez for Assembly District 52, covering the areas of Pomona, Chino and Ontario on September 24.
