Elected Leaders Celebrate With Beverly Nurses

Congresswoman Judy Chu stopped by Crabby's in Montebello on Saturday night to celebrate the union election victory for the Beverly Hospital RNs. Congresswoman Chu, an early and vocal supporter of the right of the RNs to have a fair election and voice in patient care at the hospital, joined State Controller John Chiang and UNAC/UHCP State Secretary Barbara Blake and a wide variety of elected officials from the surrounding community for the celebration.

State Controller Chiang and Blake served as co-Masters of Ceremony for the night, presenting awards to State Senator Ron Calderon; State Assembly Majority Leader Charles Calderon; Members of the Assembly Mike Eng and Roger Hernandez; El Monte Mayor Andre Quintero; Montebello Unified School District Board Member David Vela; Hacienda-La Puente Unified School District President Jay Chen; Anthony Rendon, Executive Director of Plaza De La Raza; and Miguel Santiago, Trustee of the Los Angeles Community College District Board; and the RNs serving on the bargaining committee.
