Congressional Delegation Meets with California AG Kamala Harris

A delegation of members of the US Congress urged California Attorney General Kamala Harris to reject the sale of the Daughters of Charity hospitals to Prime Healthcare on Thursday, December 11.
Speaking out on behalf of safety net hospitals that may serve the two million new Medi-Cal-eligible Californians, the delegation delivered a letter stating that Prime's business model of minimizing care to low income patients was completely incompatible with the communities served by the Daughters of Charity hospitals.
St. Francis Registered Nurses Association (SFRNA) members should plan to attend a public hearing with the Attorney General on Monday, January 5, 2015 at Lynwood Bateman Hall in Lynwood to consider the sale of St. Francis Medical Center.
