After Big Wins Safe Staffing Campaign Spreads to 12 More Affiliates

UNAC/UHCP members continue to take on safe staffing issues to address patient and workplace safety. Our campaign has already won over 125 new RN positions in just two affiliates to wipe out dangerous staffing practices, but there is still much work to be done to ensure that all UNAC/UHCP represented facilities are safely staffed. Many affiliates have decided to take charge and join the regional safe staffing campaign.
The campaign applies lessons from the previous victories to each new facility that joins in. It depends on members leaving management no choice but to address the problems by taking escalating collective actions, such as:
- Wearing stickers, buttons, and lanyards with a safe staffing message
- Signing petitions
- Demanding meetings with management
All members from affiliates that have launched the safe staffing campaign at their worksites—join the effort! We will continue to demand safe staffing until our demands are met. If a campaign is present in your facility, contact your staff representative or officers so you can wear the new UNAC/UHCP safe staffing lanyards.
