Beverly RNs Take Action for Safe Floating

Beverly RNs took action this week to stand up for safe floating procedures. They sported stickers declaring “Another RN for Safe Staffing” and used “floaties” in the hospital to highlight the issue.

We began today’s bargaining by discussing our concerns with safe floating and management’s proposal to expand float zones to float nearly all RNs to all departments.

We came to Tentative Agreement (TA) on “No Strikes or Lockouts,” prohibiting strikes by the union or lockouts by the employer during the term of the agreement.

Our Bargaining Team and management reached agreement in concept on Article 2, Union Representation. We’ll work on specific language before the next bargaining session, with the goal of finalizing the article on Thursday, October 6.

We reached agreement on language for our labor-management committee, called The Beverly Professional Practice Council, but did not reach a TA, because management tried to tie it to Job Security language.
