Beverly Members Ratify Extraordinary Second Contract

May 2015

Registered nurses at Beverly Hospital in Montebello won a superb new three-year contract with many improvements in their last round of negotiations. The bargaining team started negotiations for a second contract in January and have already wrapped up. The contract was overwhelmingly ratified by an over 95% yes vote.

The most notable feature in the new contract is a wage grid. This grid will allow full and part time benefited RNs to be rewarded for their experience. It will also make the wages fairer for all employees and increase transparency for existing nurses in the facility.

As part of moving on to a wage grid, Beverly RNs will receive significant wage increases. The average total increase over the life of the contract for a Beverly RN will be nearly 14%. Also won was preceptor language and increased pay, new paid holidays, and improved floating terms.

Our heartfelt congratulations to the Beverly bargaining team: Mirka Bojarzcki, RN, ICU, Susan Justin, RN, ICU, Ana Sales-Gonzales, RN, ICU, Isaac Saroia, RN, OR and Nicole Washington, RN, ER.
