Beverly Negotiations: A Work in Progress 

Negotiations continued today with lots of energetic discussion about staffing, floating and cancellation orders, and participation in joint committees with our nurses and administration.

The issue of hospital seniority vs. union seniority continues to be a hot topic of discussion at the table. Management refuses to acknowledge union seniority as a vital component of our contract. 

The Bargaining Team stressed to management that their new practice of sending our members to “breakfast for lunch” is clearly unacceptable. Management agreed to jointly explore options to resolve this issue.

With management’s continued reluctance to schedule more than one day per week, our team managed to secure bargaining dates into August.  Future dates for bargaining are June 23; July 7, 20 and 28; August 11, 17 and 25.
