SPNN RN Delegation Delivers Letter to CEO

RNs from across Sharp Healthcare delivered an important letter to Sharp CEO Michael Murphy’s office this morning, signed by over 300 RNs from the SPNN bargaining and RN action teams. The letter highlighted recruitment and retention of nurses, one of our top priorities in our fight for a new contract.
SPNN Bargaining Update #4

On July 28, we reached tentative agreement on a slight modification to our prior agreement on Article 22: Safety and Health during bargaining. We also agreed to maintain current contract language on Article 17: Leaves of Absence. However, we continue to have significant disagreements on several issues important to all nurses. Plan to attend bargaining on August 2!

Bill Rouse has been named UNAC/UHCP Executive Director. To say this has been a long time coming is an understatement. Bill has held many roles in his 18 years at UNAC/UHCP.

At the last bargaining session, Sharp management responded to a Union proposal on Article 14 – Hours of Work & Overtime, with language that would reduce protections we currently have in our contract. Join us on July 28 to fight for the union’s proposal that would expand our rights.

Many UNAC/UHCP members showed up for the first day of SPNN bargaining. Management was blown away! People brought their kids and even a few pets! Kids played games in the back, while members participated, and supported the bargaining team. It’s an experience not to be missed.

37th UNAC/UHCP Convention Call

Announcing the official Convention Call to the 37th UNAC/UHCP Convention. This year the convention will be held from October 2 – 5, 2016. The theme for convention is Growing Stronger Together. During the convention, an election will be held for Executive Vice President, Treasurer and three Board of Director seats.
