United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals (UNAC/UHCP) members and staff participated in the AFSCME California State Convention in Sacramento on March 14 and 15. Members from all eight AFSCME California affiliates came together to vote on the political endorsements for public office. The second day of activities included visiting the Capitol to lobby representatives in the California legislature on bills relevant to our UNAC/UHCP affiliates; in particular, SB 1111 on reforming the Board of Registered Nursing

The Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions (of which UNAC/UHCP is a part) and the Kaiser Permanente Partnership Group (the senior leadership team of health plan and physician executives) have approved the 2008 reopener of the 2005 National Agreement.
