On November 15, our Beverly RN bargaining team met with management and we exchanged proposals on sick leave reserve, management rights (successorship language), recognition and coverage, union representation, and release time for negotiations.

The Beverly RN bargaining team met with management on November 7 and 9 and reached tentative agreements on union membership, leaves of absence, seniority, job postings, and PTO. We continue to address issues of recruitment and retention, strive to improve patient care, and advocate for our profession at the bargaining table.

California Governor Jerry Brown Signs SB 17

California Gov. Jerry Brown has signed SB 17 into law. Senate Bill 17 requires drug makers to explain price hikes. UNAC/UHCP strongly supported the landmark drug pricing transparency bill as it made its way through the California legislative process.

AFSCME Family Scholarship 2018

The scholarship program for children of full dues-paying AFSCME members, including UNAC/UHCP members, will award 10 scholarships of $2,000.
STATEMENT: Senate Republicans Pull Graham-Cassidy

UNAC/UHCP opposed the Graham-Cassidy bill because it would have resulted in a loss of health care access for tens of millions of Americans. Patients and those who care for them deserve better. We hope that leaders in the Senate can now get back to finding ways to stabilize the Affordable Care Act.
