700 Strong at Kaiser South Bay Picket Line

December 2012

On December 11, 700 members and other union supporters turned out on the picket line at Kaiser South Bay to protest the reductions in force in violation of our contract.

UNAC/UHCP members from all over Southern California came in support including Kaiser Baldwin Park, Kaiser San Diego, Kaiser Downey, Kaiser Fontana, Kaiser Orange County, Kaiser Ontario-Vineyard, Kaiser Panorama City and Kaiser Woodland Hills.

We received widespread press coverage from local TV, radio, print, and online media. Check out the LA Times blog coverage.

Kaiser is projected to earn hundreds of million of dollars in profits this year, so there is absolutely no cause to make cuts that impact patient care. Packed, energized picket lines like the one we had today are what we need to do to protect our contract.

Our next picket for patient care is at Kaiser Riverside on December 13, Kaiser Ontario on December 14 and Kaiser Fontana on December 18. Click here to sign up!
