What is a Steward?

Stewards are UTSC members, trained to understand the contract and the rights of his or her colleagues. The steward is trained to successfully organize collective actions, to enforce the contract, and to represent and counsel therapists facing discipline.

Stewards are essential: they are leaders that represent the union on the job. Our goal is to have at least one steward in every facility. A strong network of stewards will make our union powerful.

Become a Steward!

All members deserve well-informed and confident representation. You will complete a training program before you are asked to be the representative in a disciplinary meeting. We offer training sessions and additional classes throughout the year. UTSC is our affiliate and we are responsible for the success of our contract.
