RNs STAND UP FOR FAIR CONTRACT: Here's the update!

We spent two days in bargaining negotiating over wages and benefits.
On Tuesday morning management presented their counter-wage proposal, in response to our initial proposal which our Union Bargaining Team had presented on August 28th.
At this point, there is no agreement on key fundamental issues:
* Fair wage increases
* Wage grids that recognize experience
* Specialty recognition for tele RNs
* Retroactivity for wage increases
Our Bargaining Team worked late Tuesday night preparing a response to management which we presented this morning. Unfortunately, management did not give us a response today. However, we do expect a response when negotiations resume on Wednesday, September 25th.
Regarding benefits, management has proposed increases in the co-pays and out of pocket maximums. We have stood firm on cost controls and urge all nurses to fill out our health insurance survey, click here to fill it out.
NEXT STEPS: TO WINNING A FAIR CONTRACT
We need to meet with all nurses to discuss our proposals on benefits and wages. It is critical that everyone understands our proposals, management’s proposals and what’s at stake.
